Terms and conditions

These terms apply to all care and services of NutriHealth Diëtistenpraktijk: at our locations, at home and online. They describe in plain language what you can expect from us and what we ask of you, so that we can focus on what matters: your health.

Version 1.0 · valid from 17 September 2026

This is an English translation for convenience. The Dutch version is legally binding.

1. About these terms

These terms and conditions apply to every sign-up, treatment agreement and service of NutriHealth Diëtistenpraktijk, located at Louwesweg 6, 1066 EC Amsterdam, KvK 67753736, AGB code 24052516, hereinafter ‘NutriHealth’ or ‘we’. By ‘you’ we mean the client, or in the case of children and young people, the parent or legal representative. By signing up or making an appointment, you agree to these terms. If a provision proves invalid, the remaining provisions remain in force.

2. Signing up and treatment agreement

  • You sign up via the website, by e-mail or by phone. A verwijsbrief (referral letter) is not needed; only for guidance within integrated care (ketenzorg: type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular risk management and COPD) does your huisarts (GP) arrange the referral.
  • After your sign-up we get in touch within one working day to plan the intake. The treatment agreement under the Dutch Medical Treatment Contracts Act (WGBO) is concluded at the first consultation.
  • If you sign up without a referral, we carry out a short screening at the intake to assess whether dietary advice is appropriate. If it is not, we refer you back to your GP.
  • For children and young people under 16, the consent of a parent or guardian is required; young people aged 12 to 16 also give consent themselves.

3. Appointments, rescheduling and cancelling

  • You can reschedule or cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the appointment via info@nutri-health.nl or 06-40164874. Outside opening hours you can leave a voicemail or e-mail; the time of receipt counts.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours in advance, or do not show up without notice, we may charge you the fee for the planned consultation. Health insurers do not cover these costs. In cases of force majeure, such as sudden illness, we look for a reasonable solution together.
  • If you arrive late, the appointment is shortened; the reserved time applies. If we have to reschedule an appointment ourselves, we let you know as early as possible and offer a new time.
  • Our regular hours are Mon – Fri: 8.30 am – 6 pm. Evening appointments available on request, also for online consultations.

4. Online consultations and home visits

Consultations by video call are equivalent to an appointment at one of our locations and are covered in the same way. You receive a link in advance; make sure you have a quiet place and a working camera. You take measurements at home according to our instructions. A home visit is possible in Amsterdam and Almere if travelling is not feasible for you; we agree this in advance.

5. Insurance cover and payment

  • Dietary advice is included in the basisverzekering (basic health insurance) of every Dutch health insurer: three hours per calendar year, including the indirect time for working out your plan. With supplementary insurance you are often entitled to more hours; this varies per policy.
  • If you are 18 or older, your insurer first offsets the costs against your eigen risico (annual deductible). Children and young people under 18 have no deductible. Within integrated care the deductible is not used.
  • NutriHealth is contracted with every Dutch health insurer and bills insurers directly. You receive no invoice from us for covered care; any deductible is collected by your insurer.
  • You are responsible for providing correct insurance details and for keeping track of your remaining hours. We help you with this and warn you when your cover is almost used up.
  • If your covered hours are used up, or you are not entitled to cover, the fees below apply. We invoice those consultations to you; the payment term is 14 days from the invoice date.

6. Fees without insurance cover

Fees consist of direct time (the conversation) and indirect time (write-up, reporting, coordination with your GP). We announce changes at least one month in advance on the page Insurance & fees.

7. What you can expect from us

  • Treatment by dietitians with a completed bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, registered in the Dutch Quality Register for Paramedics (Kwaliteitsregister Paramedici, KP 19101626789) and members of the Dutch Association of Dietitians (NVD). We work according to the guidelines and the professional code of the profession.
  • A personal plan based on an intake with measurements, and follow-up sessions in which we measure again and adjust. We make no promises of a cure and sell no products or supplements.
  • Confidentiality and careful record-keeping in accordance with the WGBO. We coordinate with your GP or specialist within integrated care, and outside it only with your consent.
  • Clarity in advance about insurance cover and costs, and an answer to a single question by e-mail at no charge.

8. What we ask of you

  • Bring a valid ID and your insurance details to the first appointment; we are legally required to record your identity and BSN (citizen service number) for billing.
  • Give us the information we need for safe advice: medical history, medication, allergies and any changes to these during the programme.
  • Let us know of changes to your contact or insurance details, and consult your doctor before adjusting medication on the basis of changed values.
  • Treat our staff and other clients with respect. In the event of repeatedly missed appointments or unacceptable behaviour, we may end the treatment; we then ensure a careful handover.

9. Liability

We have a best-efforts obligation, not an obligation to achieve a result: results differ per person and also depend on your own effort and health. Our advice does not replace a medical diagnosis or treatment by a doctor. We are not liable for damage arising from incorrect or incomplete information on your part, or from not following advice. Our liability is limited to the amount paid out by our professional liability insurance in the case concerned.

10. Complaints and disputes

Not happy about something? Tell us, preferably directly to your dietitian or via info@nutri-health.nl. We respond within five working days and are happy to resolve it together. If we cannot resolve it together, you can, under the Dutch Healthcare Quality, Complaints and Disputes Act (Wkkgz), turn to the independent complaints officer and disputes body to which our practice is affiliated via the NVD, the Klachtenloket Paramedici (Paramedics Complaints Desk). The complaints officer is free of charge for you.

11. Website and information

The information on www.nutri-health.nl, in blogs, recipes and the free nutrition check, is general in nature and does not replace personal advice. No rights can be derived from the outcome of the nutrition check. Texts, images and the logo are the property of NutriHealth and may not be reproduced without permission. Reviews on the website are quoted verbatim from Google, Trustoo or from clients who gave their consent.

12. Privacy, changes and governing law

How we handle your personal data is set out in our privacy statement. We may amend these terms; the current version is always on this page, with version number and date, and applies to new appointments from that date. Dutch law applies to all agreements.
