An online consultation with the dietitian: laptop, tea and notebook on the table

Just as personal, without the travel

Part of our team works mainly online. That is how we guide clients from Groningen to Maastricht, Amsterdammers who would rather not travel, and expats who prefer to speak English. You see your dietitian, you ask your questions and you get a plan that fits your day, even when it revolves around work, family or shift work.

How online works

Three steps, the same as at our locations. You weigh yourself at home on your own scales; we ask you to always do this the same way, so you see an honest trend.

The full approach
  1. Sign up

Online in a few minutes, no referral letter needed. Choose 'online' as your preference and the time that suits you.

  2. Intake by video call

A 60-minute conversation with your dietitian: complaints, eating pattern, medication and goals. Afterwards we work out your personal plan.

  3. Guidance spread across the year

Follow-up sessions of 45 or 30 minutes, planned at times that work for you. In between, we answer a quick question by e-mail free of charge.

Frequently asked questions

About insurance cover, the online intake and what you need. Can’t find your question? We answer a single question by e-mail free of charge.

Everything about insurance cover
Is an online dietitian covered by insurance?

Yes. Video calls are covered in the same way as an appointment at one of our locations: three hours of dietary advice per calendar year from the basisverzekering (Dutch basic health insurance), with every insurer and without a referral letter. With supplementary insurance you are often entitled to more.

How does an online intake work?

You receive a link for the video call. The intake takes 60 minutes: screening, a dietary history and immediate personal advice. You weigh yourself at home on your own scales; we ask you to always do this the same way. Afterwards we work out your personal plan and sample day menu.

Can I combine online and in-person appointments?

Yes. Many clients do the intake at one of our locations in Amsterdam or Almere and the follow-up sessions from home, or the other way round. You can choose per appointment.

What do I need?

A phone, tablet or laptop with a camera and a quiet place. Useful but not required: a set of scales and your most recent blood test results, if you have them.

Are evening appointments possible?

Our regular hours are Mon – Fri: 8.30 am – 6 pm. Evening appointments available on request, also for online consultations. Let us know your preference when you sign up.

Do I need a referral from my GP to see a dietitian?

No. Every Dutch health insurer covers dietary advice without a referral letter (verwijsbrief). Only for integrated care (ketenzorg) for diabetes, cardiovascular risk management or COPD does your GP (huisarts) arrange a referral.
