Many people think eating healthily is unaffordable. Yet it is more doable than you think. With these shopping tips you can eat well without spending too much.
- Buy long-life products, or products you can freeze, in bulk, and plan a weekly menu so you do your shopping in one go.
- Look out for offers: compare leaflets, supermarket apps and the market or Asian grocer, but only for things you actually need.
- Make a list: it prevents impulse buys. And never go shopping hungry!
- Choose frozen more often: frozen vegetables and fish are often cheaper and just as nutritious, because they are frozen straight after harvest.
- Buy whole vegetables rather than pre-cut ones, and swap expensive meat for pulses or eggs now and then.
